Dream City Church Program Focuses on Lives Changed Through Anti-Trafficking Ministry
LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2022 – “Where Hope Lives,” the Phoenix Dream City Church television program featuring the stories of lives changed through the ministry’s human trafficking rescue and recovery program, has just launched on Pray.com. Where Hope Lives is also the name of the ministry, which is the largest human trafficking rescue and recovery operation in North America, bringing hope and healing to 250 survivors every year.
Operated out of the Phoenix Dream Center, Where Hope Lives focuses on adult survivors, but the ministry also includes a program for teen survivors called StreetLight USA, and the Colorado City Dream Center works with familial trafficking survivors. The “Where Hope Lives” television program features true stories of survival told directly by the victims of these horrific events, many having escaped terrible situations like human trafficking, drug abuse and more, to pursue a new life guided by faith.

They talk transparently about uncomfortable, real-world issues that are sometimes hard to hear, but which show the way to hope.

Before coming to Second Baptist Church, Dr. Young ministered at First Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Beginning in 1979, Dr. Young would go to a local television station every Monday morning and preach the previous day’s sermon in an empty studio. Over time, more people began to watch, and the broadcast eventually blossomed to include an international reach. “The Winning Walk” now has a ministry in India that is able to translate sermons into other languages and connect individuals who hear these sermons to local churches in the area.

The National Day of Prayer has been celebrated annually in the U.S. since 1952 when Congress created a joint resolution, signed into law by President Harry Truman, stating that annually, the President would dedicate one day each year for a National Day of Prayer. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation designating the first Thursday in May as the annual observance. Every president since President Bill Clinton has on that day issued a proclamation encouraging the people of the nation to gather together in prayer.
Leaders across the country are echoing that call this year, recognizing the positive impact of prayer on mental health during a time when so many individuals are battling anxiety and depression related to the pandemic. Musicians, celebrities and pastors alike are using their voices to encourage making prayer a priority in an effort to heal our nation, which has endured so many struggles this past year.
“Any day that we are not praying is a day that we are depending on ourselves to make things happen, and is a day when we are not interested in trusting in the provision of God,” Lecrae said. “Spending time in prayer is usually not on our priority list because we’ve got so many things to do, but you can pray as you go, you can pray on the drive, you can pray anywhere. Pray without ceasing, but always remember this whenever you are spending time with God: you are not losing time, you are gaining eternity. Keep praying.”

LOS ANGELES, Calif., April 20, 2021 – As the annual National Day of Prayer occurs in early May – also Mental Health Awareness Month – Pray.com will once again host a national online and radio event Thursday, May 6, at 4 p.m. PDT/7 p.m. EDT.
During the 69th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer, Pray.com and its partners will emphasize prayer’s benefits to spiritual and mental wellbeing at a time when so many people are experiencing increased stress, anxiety and depression.
