Iran Alive Ministries Receives International Impact Media Award from National Religious Broadcasters

MCKINNEY, Texas, Jan. 2, 2024 — Iran Alive Ministries, the Dallas-based nonprofit which broadcasts the Gospel into the Middle East and Central Asia via 24/7 Satellite channel, is honored to announce its recognition for “International Impact” by the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB).

The NRB Media Awards program is designed to encourage excellence in production service to the community, faithfulness to the mission, commitment to the gospel and personal integrity. The International Impact award is presented to an individual or organization that is making an impact outside the United States, and who demonstrates a strong personal commitment to proclaiming Christ and advancing God’s Kingdom through electronic media, working with integrity and faithfulness to influence a culture for Christ.

“We’re humbled to receive the International Impact honors from such an esteemed body as NRB,” said Dr. Hormoz Shariat, Founder and President of Iran Alive Ministries. “We are driven by an unwavering belief in the power of the gospel. There’s a great awakening happening in Iran. Our goal is to use the media to transform Iran into a Christian nation one soul at a time according to God’s promise in Jeremiah 49:38.

In 2000, Dr. Shariat followed the Lord’s lead and founded Iran Alive, which today facilitates around-the-clock broadcasts of gospel messages, Bible teaching and Christian content throughout Iran and Farsi-speaking regions, including Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Iran Alive’s programming reaches an estimated audience of 130 million people.

Through an underground church network, Dr. Shariat pastors an online weekly church service with over 6 million people in attendance, offering Iranian Christians the opportunity to receive Biblical teachings and to fellowship with believers. Iran Alive offers a 24/7 helpline for Iranians fighting for humanitarian rights and has distributed more than 100,000 Bibles into the Middle Eastern country since 2001.

Iran Alive is committed to empowering the Christian legacy in Iran by planting one of the largest underground church networks inside the country. The 4:12 Discipleship School, with a current enrollment of over 3,400, plays a crucial role in teaching, training and mobilizing new Iranian believers for ministry.

“Iranians are desperate for change. They are disillusioned by Islam and are looking into Christian faith to find the true God,” Dr. Shariat stated. “Over 50% of Iran’s population is under 35 years old. Iran Alive plans to create contemporary, age-appropriate programs that not only share the gospel but also disciple and train them to become strong leaders and history-makers in Christ’s army.”

The annual NRB Awards program is designed to encourage creative ways to use media to impact nations through excellence in production, service to the community, and faithfulness to the mission and commitment to the Gospel. Awards will be presented during the 2024 NRB International Christian Media Convention, which will take place February 20-23, 2024, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
