DALLAS, March 21, 2023 – Premier Insight, the Christian media group behind the popular “Unbelievable?” podcast, continues to stimulate important dialogue among leading thinkers across the belief spectrum, with the latest episode of “The Big Conversation.”
Now in its fifth season, The Big Conversation, hosted by ‘Unbelievable?’ presenter Justin Brierley, features the top minds in the Christian, atheist and religious communities debating the biggest questions of science, faith, philosophy and what it means to be human. Airing April 14 (April 7 for subscribers), the second episode of this season features a riveting discussion between authors Louise Perry and Rod Dreher on Christianity and the sexual revolution.
“Looking at the gap between what I was experiencing doing frontline work and what I had been taught as feminist theory...shook my faith in feminist theory,” Perry remarks. “We seem to have just abandoned any effort to control men, and to constrain male sexuality—which has to be constrained.”
Perry, coming from a ‘secular, liberal urban upbringing’ and a conventional education and career in feminist journalism, explains how her perspective radically transformed when she began to personally witness the many real-world setbacks women inevitably now experience as a result of progressivism and the sexual revolution. In the process of coming to terms with her unique conclusion, she was compelled to write her book, The Case Against the Sexual Revolution, a thought-provoking piece of literature exposing the distortion of 'sex-positive' feminism and its astronomically damaging effects on society.
“As you say so powerfully in this book, the whole sexual revolution has been a boon for caddish men,” Dreher adds, concurring with Perry. “It’s justified by contemporary liberal feminists as being something beneficial for women, but in fact, those who have benefitted the most are the ones who have the most contempt for women.”
